The innovative PCR test for sexually transmitted infections
The Vivalytic STI test detects sexually transmitted pathogens fast and reliably, thus providing the basis for an immediate treatment.
Comprehensive test results with the Vivalytic STI test
Sexually transmitted infections (STIs) pose a serious public health problem worldwide. Therefore, the detection of the pathogens is of utmost importance. With Vivalytic one or more viruses or bacteria can be detected in only one patient sample. As a result, Vivalytic helps finding the right therapy based on prompt diagnosis. The majority of STIs remain undetected because they cause little to no symptoms. Others, however, cause similar or overlapping symptoms, which can lead to co-infections getting overlooked.
The Vivalytic DNA-based test provides a solution to this problem. Because the process is fully automated, the samples need to be prepared with a few steps only. Instead, the processing through the device increases the harvest from the sample and multiplies it. As a result, comprehensive results can be obtained even if the sample quantity is very small.
Genital swabs and/or urine samples can be used for the Vivalytic STI test. Both are processed fully automated by the Vivalytic Analyser.
Detectable pathogens
The innovative system can directly detect ten pathogens, including two viruses, seven bacteria and one parasite. The following pathogens are detected by the Vivalytic STI Test:
- Chlamydia trachomatis
- Neisseria gonorrhoeae
- Trichomonas vaginalis
- Treponema pallidum
- Herpes simplex virus I
- Herpes simplex virus II
- Mycoplasma hominis
- Mycoplasma genitalium
- Ureaplasma urealyticum
- Haemophilus ducreyi

Frequently asked questions
Do you have any questions? We have the answers.
With Vivalytic, not only singleplex tests are possible, but also multiplex tests. In addition, users benefit from the large number of tests and the time saved thanks to automation.
With the Vivalytic Analyser and accompanying cartridges, no additional peripheral devices like laptop, keyboard, barcode scanner are required.
Depending on the type and complexity of the test, it can take 30 to 90 minutes.
In a STI test, a urine sample or a urogenital swab is used as the sample type.
Yes, the cartridge contains everything that is required for the complete test sequence.
The option of using ultrasound for homogenisation and lysis enables the use of liquid samples and tissue as well as samples on a carrier material, such as a swab.
