UTI

Comprehensive test results with the Vivalytic UTI test*

Urinary tract infections affect the urinary tract (bladder, tubes and kidneys) and cause various painful and distressing symptoms such as pain when urinating, frequent urination, blood in urine, fever, chills and side pain. They are usually caused by bacteria.

In the worst case, a urinary tract infection can develop into urosepsis, which can lead to high mortality and high follow-up costs. (1) The risk of infection is significantly higher in women than in men.

Risk factors include changing sexual partners, a previous urinary tract infection, pregnancy, changes in the bacterial flora in the genital area and structural problems of the urinary tract. (2)

Rapid testing for urogenital pathogens in the case of a concrete suspicion of UTI or also as screening in asymptomatic patients can help to shorten the time until the start of a targeted therapy. This can have a positive influence on the course of the disease.

With the Vivalytic UTI test*, urinary tract infections can be detected quickly and specifically.

The advantages at a glance

Vivalytic stands for high efficiency and safety with minimum effort. The unique Vivalytic platform provides ideal assistance for everyday work in clinics, practices, and laboratories.

Comprehensive results

The Vivalytic UTI test detects 21 uropathogens and 7 antimicrobial resistance genes in one single test.

High usability

The minimalistic design, easy handling and comprehensive depiction of the results ensure a high level of usability.

Easy handling

Like all Vivalytic tests, the Vivalytic UTI test is fully automated. This allows for fewer work steps, saving valuable time.

What exactly happens in the Vivalytic Analyser?

The Vivalytic Analyser automates complex, molecular diagnostic processes that previously had to be carried out manually. This promotes high safety and quick availability of the test results.

1. Step
Samples are processed reliably.
2. Step
The external membrane of the cells is broken down through ultrasound.
3. Step
The nucleic acid (DNA/RNA) is purified for the PCR amplification.
4. Step
Specific DNA sequences are multiplied using PCR.
5. Step
The amplified DNA is identified by detecting a fluorescence or chemiluminescence signal.
